Welcome

It’s a new semester with new faces and new classes. We want to welcome you to our team of learning, teaching and focusing on achievement for our students. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have questions concerning your child. The phone number is (706) 236-1884. We are here to work with you!

To Be or not to Be on Time

Classes at FCEC begin at 8:00 a.m. each morning. You may drop your child off between 7:30 – 8:00 (earlier if prearranged with school official). It is critical that your child be checked in and on time when classes begin. Unexcused tardies over four will result in disciplinary action. School dismisses at 2:30 p.m. You are to pick up your child by 3:00 (unless prearranged). If your child remains at school later than 3:00, disciplinary actions may result and/or an assignment given.

Ring! Ring!

Our phone is for emergency use only. It is not provided to arrange transportation when your child gets to school or call a friend. There are times when emergencies arise. If this occurs, please call the school and make arrangements with a school official. Students cannot concentrate on their academics if they

are not in class. Thanks for helping with this matter.

Looking great!

Please help us keep our students looking great. Each student has a copy of the dress code. Remind your child to tuck in their shirt, buckle & tie their shoes, and pull their pants up. This will enable them to begin the day dressed appropriately for school. Hats are not allowed in school.

Chow Time

A hot lunch is provided by Johnson Elementary School each day. Students can pay day-by-day; however, it would help if you could pay by the week or month. Checks are to be made out to Johnson Elementary School. Please keep your child’s account up to par. Charges are not allowed.

Where are you?

Attendance at FCEC is a must! If your child is absent from school a note is REQUIRED upon returning to school. Phone calls are not sufficient. Please refer to your child’s handbook for the guidelines. Excused & unexcused absences are defined, as well as, the time limit for bringing a note. Please see a staff member if you have any questions.

many thanks!

Thank you parents and students for being a part of our great adventure here at the FCEC. We have a wonderful faculty and staff eager to help in any way possible.

Hello . . . Hello

No electronic devices are allowed in the building at the FCEC. Examples include, but not limited to, IPods, CD players, handheld games, and CELL PHONES. These items are to be left at home or in your vehicle. If these items are found at school they will be confiscated and returned to a parent at the end of the student assignment.

Transportation Nightmare

Parents are responsible for their child’s transportation unless the student has permission to drive from the administrator (driver agreement contract must be completed). The parents may work out carpooling with other parents; however, the school is not responsible for finding transportation for students. If you are interested in carpooling, you may sign up in the office on the carpooling form provided. This information cannot be provided over the phone. This is not for student use.

I have to do what?

In order to meet satisfactory requirements to return to the home school, students will be responsible for the following:

Attendance (90%)

Improve academic performance

Meet behavior expectations

Complete Service-Learning Project

John Hancock needed

Students will be bringing home information that needs parent/guardian signatures. Please make sure these are signed and returned promptly. Signatures are required each week on the Student Performance Evaluation dealing with academic, behavior and attendance performance. If for any reason you are not receiving information, please contact the school.
